Toronto Airport Facilities

The Toronto Airport facilities are well known for being very clean and efficient. They have everything you need there including free WiFi service. For many the free WiFi may be the highlight of what the Toronto Airport facilities offers, but they have many other amenities that will take care of your every need.

There are a huge array of restaurants, bars and diners for you to choose from. If you want a quick coffee there is a Tim Horton’s or Starbucks, as well as, several other independently owned shops. There is also upscale dining at its finest. You may want to consider traveling to the Toronto Airport facilities without a plane ticket in hand! You’ll want to dine at one of their excellent restaurants or have a drink an atmospheric lounge. Even Wolfgang Puck has opened a restaurant there.

There is an exhibit the highlights the films that have been made in the city of Toronto over the years and some famous Canadians that have been part of their creation. The Toronto International Film Festival created this permanent display and it has become a gravitational point for travelers to the city to view.

There are also many sculptures, paintings and mixed media artwork created by Canadian artists in several areas of the terminal. Some are permanent displays and others are rotating and depict certain themes and events. Although there is much to do and see within the Toronto Airport facilities while you are waiting to fly out of the Toronto Airport, it’s the air travel rules that will be of most concern.

Accessibility

Toronto Person aims to ensure every single traveller has a delightful and satisfying visit. To help with your check-in, they’ve provided accessible self-service check-in kiosks. You can also arrange through the airport 48 hours before travelling, any wheelchair and mobility assistance. Accessible toilets are also located inside all facilities. Teletypewriters can also be found at both terminals, even including the airport link train (all stations), if you do require to make a TTY call.

Travelling with children

No matter if it’s a layover or if you’re travelling with children as a family towards a destination, you’ll find nursing pods and rooms inside both terminals after security. If you are departing from Terminal 1, a children’s play area is located at departure lounge D24. Giving you some time to relax as children enjoy playing before take off.

If you are breast-feeding and would like some privacy while doing so, you’re more than welcome to use a nursing pod or room. Before visiting the airport download Mamava to your smartphone via Google Play or the App Store. When inside the airport, load up the app and select the pod. An access code will appear for you to enter on the pod door using the keypad. Inside the pod, you’ll have access to a folding table, two benches, a mirror, dual grab bars and a power outlet with a USB port for charging electronic devices. The pods are comfortable enough for you and your baby, as well as being able to fit in your luggage, so you can ensure it’s safety while inside and another family member.

Travelling with Pets

While travelling is undoubtedly an exciting time, it can be stressful for your four-legged friend. Toronto Pearson offers a pet relief area, which is precisely what it sounds like. Locations can be found in both terminals pre and post-security, which genuinely helps to ease your four-legged friend. They’ll be able to walk on artificial grass open 24 hours. While inside the airport, they are required to be inside a carrier.

The U.S. and many other countries have a long list of things that cannot be brought onto the plane. Be aware of this before you step on the plane and you can save yourself a lot of hassle later on. It would be a shame to spoil your great time in the Toronto Airport facilities by breaking a few rules once you get on the plane.
